JetBlue Engine Fire in Puerto Rico, 3 Injured

Jet Blue flight#704 was either preparing for, or possibly even ready for take-off when an engine fire stopped the flight’s progress. All 186 passengers aboard the flight were evacuated, with three of those passengers injured. The aircraft was an Airbus A-321, and the time of incident occurrence was 7:00PM Puerto Rico time.

Injuries to the three passengers were said to be minor, Puerto Rico airport authority official Rolando Padua said in a statement. Firefighters were able to quickly extinguish the engine fire, Padua said.

Fight 704 was scheduled to arrive at JFK at 10:37PM, according to JetBlue officials. JetBlue further said they were working on putting the passengers on alternate flights at the time.
