‘Unauthorized Person’ tried to Board JetBlue 24

Authorities were searching for an “unauthorized person” who may have attempted to board a JetBlue flight at LAX Thursday morning, airport police said.

JetBlue flight 24 to New York was scheduled to leave Los Angeles International Airport at 6:30 a.m., but airport police received a call reporting an unauthorized person was trying to use a passenger boarding bridge to access an aircraft in Terminal 3 at about 6 a.m., according to a statement from the airport.

“Out of an abundance of caution, aircraft and luggage onboard flight 24 from LAX to JFK are being rescreened following a potential security issue,” the statement read.

Once cleared the flight is expected to depart for New York though further delays are possible because of a traffic management program in effect.
