BREAKING: Delta flight suffers engine loss after takeoff

Delta Airlines Flight 1731 took off normally this evening just after 9pm from New York LaGuardia (LGA) heading for Atlanta, but just minutes after takeoff the left engine failed. The pilots made the decision to land at New York’s JFK International Airport as it’s runways are much longer. The flight landed without incident.
