Savvy Mazatlan Accommodations
El Cid Marina Beach Resort — Deluxe
We discovered two extraordinary resorts including the El Cid Marina Beach Resort which offered spacious villas and suites with views of the marina and a quick launch to a private beach. The resort also features several restaurants and pools that make each day a new experience.
Pueblo Bonito at Emerald Bay — Deluxe
We also took the time to enjoy a spa treatment at the Armonia Spa at the Pueblo Bonito at Emerald Bay. This resort was slightly more upscale than the El Cid Marina Beach Resort and a bit more expensive as well; but we also loved breakfast at La Cordeliere and a visit to Kelly’s Bar.
Savvy Mazatlan Dining
El Presidio is located in the historic old town district and serves unique cocktails along with delectable mexican recipes with pork dishes being their specialty.
Dine with a view of Plaza Machado and enjoy the charm of old-town Mazatlan. Pedro and Lola has everything from seafood to steaks with an emphasis on shrimp– for which Mazatlan is famous. You’ll not be disappointed.
This deliciously quaint restaurant is located in the historic colonial town of El Quelite. All dishes at El Meson de Los Laureanos are prepared with ingredients grown by local farmers. In fact, this immaculate restaurant not only employs many local citizens, they provide free meals to over 100 children per day.
Savvy Mazatlan Sights
Huanacoa Canopy Park gave us an unforgettable zip-lining experience through the Sinaloan outback. This zip lining team is rated number 1 on Trip Advisor and after we flew with them we understand why! Even if you are afraid of heights, you’ll feel at ease a you zip through the jungle on the over 1-mile zip line ride with some lines over 60 feet high.
Tequila Factory Tasting Tour
A visit to this working Tequila factory is an absolute must. Hacienda Los Osuna is a distillery surrounded by fields of blue agave.
