Indian hotel guest arrested for stealing 120 television sets over four months

Police in India have arrested a man for stealing more than 120 television sets from hotels across southern India over a four-month period.

A man has been detained after he allegedly stole 120 television sets from hotels across southern India over a four-month period.

Vasudev Nanaiah booked himself into budget hotels with empty oversized bags to put the televisions in.

Official say that if the television he was planning to steal did not fit his bag, the 34-year-old would go out to a local market to buy a bigger suitcase.

Hotel staff never suspected him as he was very well behaved.

Mr Nanaiah is now expected to serve jail time as he was caught whilst out on bail for stealing a television in October.

A court will decide whether he requires a psychiatric evaluation for his obsession with stealing televisions.
