Singer Tamar Braxton and her sister Towanda Braxton were reportedly on their way back to Atlanta on a Delta Airlines flight after performing at the Cincinnati Music Festival. In a video that has now gone viral, a white Delta airline pilot can be seen addressing Braxton stating:
He isn’t exactly disrespectful but does appear highly irritated, and although Tamar Braxton is known for being a handful, she gives no details on what occurred before the pilot approached the singer and “ridiculed” her.
As travelers we all know that in situations where the flight attendants require a response from the passengers, it is a requirement to participate. And from this video, based on the pilot’s statements it appears as though Tamar may have been non-responsive to assisting in an emergency. However, Tamar’s sister Towanda Braxton posted the video stating that Delta should be ashamed of themselves.
But is this a case of folks thinking that celebrity exempts from getting with the “In Flight Passenger Announcement” program or is this something else? What happened before this video was filmed would answer the question. Here’s how Towanda viewed the situation:
@tamarbraxton got ridiculed by a pilot for flying while black on Delta. Wow! I guess being a diamond and double million miler don’t matter… @delta Shame on you… #WhyArePeopleSoMad #flyingwhileblack #smh | Instagram
